Confidential listening · Phone & in person · Austin and worldwide
An hour with someone who has no stake in how it turns out.I'm not your board, your staff, your spouse, or your lawyer.I'm the person you can finally say the whole thing to.
Who's listening
Jlisten2me is a confidential one-hour listening service in Austin, Texas, by phone or in person, from $45 to $100 an hour. Not therapy, not coaching. An hour where someone hears the whole thing and keeps none of it.
I'm JFeelgood, an indie developer and artist based in Austin.I built this because I've been on both sides of conversations where nobody was really listening, and I know what it feels like when someone is.
Before this I worked in finance, payroll, CAD, manufacturing, retail, design, and marketing.I've produced music, painted, and written, directed, and produced film.I've written books and published them.So whatever world you're talking from, you probably won't have to translate it for me.
Who this is for
Some weight can't go to the people around you.Not because they don't care.Because what you say to them lands somewhere, and you know it.
Layoffs, a runway you can't talk about, whether to sell. Your team can't carry your doubt without it changing how they work, and you know it the second you open your mouth.
They'd listen. That's the problem. Every worry you set down becomes theirs to carry at two in the morning, and they've already got their own.
Everybody has a position. Friends pick sides, family has opinions, lawyers bill by the tenth of an hour. Here you can say the ugly version out loud and it goes nowhere.
New city, new title, new diagnosis, empty house. Big change doesn't arrive as one clean feeling. It arrives as six at the same time, and they need somewhere to go.
The pitch, the keynote, the interview, the toast, the conversation you've rehearsed forty times. Run it at me first. I'll listen to the whole thing without checking my phone.
Some hours you want somebody in your corner telling you you've got this. Some hours you just need to swear about it for sixty minutes. Say which one at the start and that's what you get.
How it works
Step one
Grab an open slot on the calendar below. Phone hours include evenings and weekends. In person is a few Wednesdays a month at noon.
Step two
Card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay through Stripe checkout. I never see your card number. The charge reads as Jlisten2me.
Step three
Start wherever you want. Silence is fine. No notes, no recording, no advice unless you ask for it out loud.
Say at the start whether you want to be hyped up or want to vent, and that's the hour you get.
Confidentiality
Nothing from a session gets repeated, written down, posted, or used as an example. No recordings. No notes I keep afterward. No names, ever, not even stripped of detail.
There's no paperwork to sign and no account to make, because there's nothing on my end for either one to protect. I don't keep a file on you. It's a shorter route to the same place.
If you'd rather I never learn your last name, that works too. Book under a first name and pay through Stripe. I don't need to know who you are to listen to you.
Questions
No. I'm not a licensed therapist, counselor, or coach, and I don't diagnose or treat anything. A session is an hour of being listened to by someone with no stake in the outcome. If what you're carrying needs clinical help, I'll say so plainly, and 988 is there for a crisis.
A phone hour is $60. An hour in person, at a public spot in Austin, is $100. A prepaid block of five phone hours is $225, which works out to $45 an hour. Payment goes through Stripe at the time of booking, and you can reschedule free up to 24 hours out.
Yes. Nothing is recorded, I keep no notes once the hour ends, and nothing you say gets repeated, written down, or used as an example, even without your name. The one limit: I'm not a therapist and this isn't legal privilege, so a credible threat of serious harm to you or someone else isn't covered.
Most people start by phone. It's cheaper, it's private, and you can take it from wherever you already are. In person is for people who think better across a table or on a walk. Both are the same sixty minutes; the only difference is the room.
Then vent. Say at the start whether you want to be talked up or want to let it out, and that's the hour you get. There's no format, no worksheet, and no advice unless you ask for it out loud. Silence is fine too.
Yes. Book under a first name and pay through Stripe, which handles your card details so I never see them. I don't need to know who you are to listen to you. If you want to say more later, that's your call, not a requirement.
You pay $225 once and get a private booking link for five phone hours. Use them whenever you want; they don't expire. If you'd like one of them in person, you pay the difference. It's meant for a stretch that's going to take more than one conversation.
In-person hours are at noon on a few Wednesdays each month, somewhere public in Austin we agree on after you book: a quiet coffee shop, a park bench, or a walk if you'd rather move while you talk. The open Wednesdays are the ones on the calendar. If none of them work, phone hours run evenings and weekends too.
